dc.description.abstract In this study, we proposed three active contour models for the segmentation of medical images. Our main objective is the development of new robust and efficient image segmentation techniques that could help overcome the following problems: the presence of intensity inhomogeneities in images, the presence of different types of noise, the sensitivity of the segmentation techniques to initialization of contours, and the high computational cost of image segmentation algorithms. fr_FR
